Churches & Cathedrals

Ever since the Spanish arrived in Mexico in the 1,500s, Catholicism has influenced the country’s culture and infrastructural development in ways that cannot be overestimated. No Mexican town however small, is without its church or cathedral, and some in cities like Guadalajara are of a grandeur that matches and often exceeds those to be found in some capitals of Europe. Mexico’s artisans, world renowned for their craftmanship, took inspiration from the teachings and the iconography of Catholicism, and working alongside their colonizers, created a vast array of magnificent structures in almost countless forms and in all sizes. Most of them still stand.  Some dioceses will accord filming permissions to film and television producers shooting in Mexico, but depending on the church or cathedral that is at the center of the filming permit request, others may not. Contact us to let us know your requirements for shooting your feature film scene or television series episode in a Mexico religious institution, and we will do our best to make it possible.
