Canyons & Valleys

Jalisco state is noteworthy for being dominated by three of Mexico’s most majestic mountain ranges: The Sierra Madre Occidental, the Sierra Madre del Sur and a volcanic one that spans east-west and is home to breathtaking gorges, canyons and plateaus. In all, the state has over 1,800 mountains, and those are just the ones with names. At the northernmost edge of Guadalajara city and therefore convenient to Mexico film crews basing themselves in the state capital, lies what’s been called “Mexico’s Grand Canyon.” For such is the beauty of the vistas presented by the Huentin (Oblatos) Gorge.
